Ycario G. Carrion of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the age of 79. After months of declining health, Ycario died peacefully with his beloved wife, Juanita Campos-Carrion, and family by his side at his home.

Ycario was born in Millett, Texas on February 22, 1943 to Ycario and Delfina Carrion. He grew up in Cotulla, Texas where he was a graduate of Cotulla High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and prior to enlisting into the service, he met the love of his life, Juanita. In 1967, the couple got married in Cotulla and were happily married for the next 55 years. Their everlasting partnership led them to Des Plaines, where they began to grow their family. He was employed for Pace buses (from 1970-1972), S and S Warehouse (from 1972-1985), Nexus Warehouse (from 1985-1995), Davidsmeyer Bus Services (from 2005-2016) and Skokie Valley Distributor (from 1995-2018). Once retired in 2018, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and would often garden.

He is survived by his wife Juanita; 4 children, Yvette Carrion, Ycario Carrion, Yvonne (Chris) Jorgensen and Daniel Carrion; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Carrion, Evin Jorgensen, and Delfina Jorgensen; 2 brothers, Richard (Delores ✝) Carrion and Apolonio (Florinda) Carrion; 2 sisters, San Juana Alvarado and Julia (Albert) Aguilar. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Humberto Carrion. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. followed by a Rosary, at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 starting with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. followed by Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 794 Pearson St., Des Plaines, Illinois.
