William Joseph Morey, Bill to his friends, age 68, of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away May 8, 2022. He was the oldest son of Clair Morey and Geraldine Ernie Morey, was born January 27,1954 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Chicago. Trained as a mechanical engineer, he worked for the City of Evanston Department of Parks and Recreation for more than 20 years, often working extra events and never missing a day of work. He attended Arizona State University on a baseball scholarship and was drafted as a minor league pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. His passion was baseball and he dedicated a great portion of his earlier years as a little league coach. Bill enjoyed camping, bowling and golf and prided himself in his barbecuing skills. A faithful husband of 38 years, he is survived by his wife, Yvonne White-Morey, sons Sean, Adam and Kevin Morey, and always delighted in his cat, Cloud. Private family services will be held.
