Wesley Lowell Kiel, age 89, a resident of Des Plaines, Illinois since 1970 passed away June 23, 2021. Beloved husband of 57 years to Patricia (nee Gartung) Kiel. Loving father of Brian (Cynthia) and Steven (Jeannie) Kiel. Proud grandfather of Adam (Jamie), Paul, Jordan, Noah, Stephanie, and Katherine. Dear brother of Esther J. (the late Eldon) Sayler, Sylvia (the late Donald) Yunker, and the late Lawrence W. (Bernice) Kiel. Wesley was born October 12, 1931 in Highmore, South Dakota to the late Herman and the late Iola (nee Lawrence) Kiel. Wesley was a veteran of the Air Force. In his early life, he attended the South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City. During his time here in Des Plaines, Wesley was a member of the Des Plaines Camera Club, regularly volunteered at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, and he worked as a chemical engineer at Universal Oil. He was also a part of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Private family services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church. Private interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Methodist Church, 605 W. Golf Rd., Mt.
