Obituary

Wendelyn (Wendy) Louise Wallace, age 71, died at Lutheran General Hospital from complications following heart surgery and the condition Pulmonary Fibrosis on July 30, 2021. She was born in Mankato, MN, but moved to Des Plaines, IL, at the age of five, where she lived until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Mabel (nee Orth) Wallace and her sister, Suzanne W. Crowder (Michael). She is survived by her brother-in-law Michael Crowder; and her cousins Richard Wallace (Edna)  and Ronald Wallace; and Barbara Sieling. Wendy earned a BS in Home Economics from Valparaiso University in Indiana and an MBA from the University of IL, Chicago. She pursued a government career as a Revenue Agent with IRS where she worked as an auditor for 34 years. She also taught Management classes, part-time, for 30 years at Oakton Community College. She lived an active life. She enjoyed music and traveled to many domestic and international destinations. Visitation for Wendy will be taking place on Thursday, August 5, 2021 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church UCC, 766 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016.
