Thelma Cornell Spain, age 91, of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 17, 2022. She was the wife of the late Theodore Holmes Spain, mother of Valerie C. Kaiser as well as the late Jeffrey H. Spain and the late Laurie M. Spain. Thelma was the loving grandmother of five, great grandmother of four and a beloved friend to many. The Lord has always been in Thelma's heart and she has been a Prayer Warrior for all of her family and friends. Her love of God inspired each and every one of her watercolor paintings, which are displayed in thousands of collections worldwide, earning over 600 awards. Visitation for Thelma will be taking place on Friday, December 2, 2022 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
