Ruth Lydia Thiel Ladis, age 87, a lifelong resident of Chicago, Illinois passed away July 20, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Sam Ladis. Loving mother of Paul (Beth), James (Annie), Allen (Cathy Hecht) Ladis, Sharon (Gene) Schiltz, and the late Thomas Ladis. Proud grandmother of Matthew (Ann), Katie (Phil), Christopher (Lauren), Margaret (Monica), and Liam (Ren); great-grandmother of Audrey, Louis, and Gene. Dear sister of Herman and the late Arthur Thiel. Ruth was born March 6, 1937 in Chicago to the late Herman and the late Lydia (nee Otto) Thiel. She was a long time member of Bethany Baptist Church in Harwood Heights, Illinois.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.
