Ronald Adam Voyda, 85, of Des Plaines, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022. Beloved husband of Venita Voyda for 63 years. Loving father of sons; Ronald Jr. (Jenny), Timothy (Nancy), and Michael (Julie). Cherished grandfather of Adam, Ryan (Marisa), Matthew, Jessica (Brian) Stumpf, and David (Brittany). Proud great-grandfather of Maurice, Gwendolyn, William, Oliver, Brandon, and Levi Stumpf. Evan and Vera Voyda. Preceded in death by his loving parents Stanley and Virginia Voyda, step-mother Winifred, brothers Charles, Gary (Mariette), and sister Joyce (Bob) Schachner. Ronald was born and raised in Chicago, but resided in Des Plaines for 48 years. He was as US Navy Veteran and served on the USS Leyte CV-32. He graduated from Northwestern University. In his early years, Ronald worked as a butcher and a furniture salesman. He had a long career in transportation and logistics management, with 25 years at Walgreens. Ronald enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, California, and the Disney parks with family. He was a renowned consumer advocate, and loved to build and tinker around the house. Visitation will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 6:30 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.
