Ronald L. Schimka Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the age of 82. He was born on September 27, 1941 to the late Carl Schimka Sr. and Gertrude (nee Reeves) Schimka in Chicago, Illinois.

He enjoyed crafting, especially making yard decorations and would sell his creations at local farmers markets. He was a devoted dog owner and especially loved his dog, Molly.

Ronald is survived by his wife Joanne Schimka, sons Ronald Jr., Daniel (Sheila), Thomas, and John (Mary Pat), twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Jim and Jack Schimka. He is predeceased by his parents, daughter Deborah (Raymond) Cook, and brother Carl (Jan) Schimka Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.
