Robert Patrick Edwards, age 71, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 16, 2024. He was born on June 11, 1953.

Robert was fondly known as Red by his family and friends. He was a gentle giant with a big heart and an infectious, hearty laugh.

Red was fond of people and all sports, particularly horse racing. He was most proud of his children, Blake and Grant Edwards. He cherished his granddaughter, Ava. One of nine children, he was a lifetime resident of the Chicago area.

Red is survived by his two sons, Blake and Grant, granddaughter Ava Edwards, siblings Jean (James) Drake, Michael Edwards, Patricia (Rodger) Cantrell, Joseph (Susan) Edwards, Kathleen (Raymond) Novak, Theresa (Danny) Edwards and Christopher Capps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bridget Capps and Norman Edwards, and his Brother, Dennis Edwards.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am at St. Rosalie Church, 6750 Montrose Ave, Harwood Heights, Illinois 60706.
