Robert Michael Clark, age 88, of Elk Grove Village, formerly of Des Plaines, Illinois and Bella Vista Village, Arkansas, passed away November 21, 2023. Beloved husband of 64 years to Francine (Fitzgerald) Clark. Loving father of Michael Clark, Mary (Steven) Cardona, Patrick (Susan) Clark, and Ann (Kevin) Cronin. Proud grandfather of Benet, Matthew; Andrew (Amy), Amanda, Zack, Molly, Bridget, MaryRose, Keeley, Maggie and great granddaughter Alena. Dear brother of David (Martha) Clark, Patricia (Rich) Truver, brother-in-law of Maureen Clark, his Fitzgerald sibling in-laws, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Mary Rose (Carver) and Robert Lincoln Clark, his youngest brother Daniel Clark.
Robert served in the Navy and was an alumni of Loyola University. He retired after 30 years with the Des Plaines Police Department at the rank of Captain. He also graduated from the FBI National Academy.
He loved all sports especially Notre Dame football and the Chicago Bears, and all the teams of his grandkids' colleges! His absolute favorite hobby was golf, playing and watching it! He faithfully served God volunteering in many capacities throughout his life - most notably as a founding Parish Council member of St. Stephen Church in Des Plaines. Robert was also a volunteer at Helping Hands in Bentonville, Arkansas serving on the Board of Directors.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am at St. Julian Eymard Church, 601 Biesterfield Rd., Elk Grove Village, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name may be made to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W.
