It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert A. Buckley on June 4, 2024, in North Port, FL. He was born on November 7, 1946, in Chicago IL, to his father, the late James Buckley, and his mother, the late Mary Buckley née Donahue. He was a brother to Thomas (Veronica), the late Alice Bradley née Buckley and the late Jim Buckley. Robert was a beloved husband to Margeret and a father to Rob, Margaret, Joe (Michelle) and Melissa. He was a loved Grandpa to Anna, Claire, Leno, Noah, Satoshi and Kimiko.

Robert was a retired Cook County Sheriff, a US Army Vietnam Veteran and 15 year employee at NASA. He loved sailing and his dogs, Robin and Clorinda.

Robert will be remembered for his strength and willingness to help others in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday July 2 from 5:00-7:00pm with a prayer service at 6:30pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue Des Plaines, Illinois.
