Richard L. Thomsen age 90 of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away on May 19, 2022. He was the husband of Margaret (nee Pohlmann) for 61 years, father of six, grandfather of eleven, great grandfather of one. He was an avid hockey enthusiast and in earlier years played as goalie and then coached youth hockey teams. Richard always had a homemade ice rink ready for fun use in the backyard for his kids and the neighborhood. He also loved pheasant hunting with his sons and apple orchard picking with his daughters and going on adventures with his grandchildren. He worked for many years as a purchasing control manager. He will be greatly and dearly missed. Visitation will be taking place on Thursday, May 26, 2022 beginning at 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:15 a.m. at Christian Life Church, 400 E.
