Nadia Mirijanian (nee Sirinyan), 90, of Mount Prospect, IL passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023. Nadia was born on August 3, 1932, in Kinaliada, one of the Prince Islands in the sea of Marmara, near Istanbul Turkey to parents Onnik and Mariam Sirinyan. She was the youngest of three sisters, the late Sirpuhi Nacar and the late Ankine Yazicioglu. Nadia lost her father at a young age. She and her two sisters were raised by their mother and grandmother on Kinaliada. She began her primary education at Nersesyan elementary school and completed her education at Kalfayan Armenian School. Nadia was married in 1957, to her husband of 65 years, Krikor. They immigrated to the United States in 1977 where she worked as a seamstress at Neiman Marcus until her retirement. Nadia was a dedicated wife, mom and friend; a loving grandmother and a great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening and traveling the world with her husband. She is survived by her husband Krikor and her children Masis (Nelly) Mirijanian, daughter Sibil (Shahan) Alexanian, grandchildren Tania (Arden) Kurtjian, Shant (Sasha) Alexanian, and Chloe Mirijanian; great-grandchildren Alek Kurtjian and Ari Alexanian. Visitation (Wake) will be on W ednesday, March 15, 2023, at St. James Armenian Church (816 Clark St. Evanston, IL) at 10:00 a.m., Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. James Armenian Church in Evanston, Illinois. For information please call G. L. Hills Funeral Home at (847) 699-9003.
