Michael "Mike" John Sklena, age 71, of Des Plaines, IL passed away on June 2, 2019. He was born in Chicago on January 15, 1948 and grew up in Park Ridge. Growing up, Mike and his family spent many summers in Lake Tomahawk, WI at his family resort. He graduated from Maine South High School and The University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.  He spent 41 working as an electrician. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. His greatest joy in life was his family. He was always proud of his children and grandchildren. He had a great love for his grand puppies, especially his best friends Aspen and Mischa. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Linda (nee Deitte); Loving father of Michelle (Jason) Sasse, Jason Sklena, and John (Missy) Sklena; Proud grandfather of Abigail, Eliana, Kaelyn, and Tyler Sasse and Madison Sklena; also many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents Mathias and Florence Sklena, and brother James (Betsy) Sklena.
