Mary E. Smetana, age 65, of Norridge, Illinois, passed away on April 20, 2024. Born in Poland on May 8, 1958, she was the cherished daughter of the late Stanley and Maria (nee Nita) Czachor. Mary held a Master's degree from DePaul University and was a CPA with a long and illustrious career in Chicago.

Mary is survived by her devoted sister Henya Pappas, beloved niece Michelle (Sam) Peniak, and nephews Tom (Ellen) Pappas and Jim Pappas. She is also survived by her loving great-niece Brinley Peniak and great-nephews Thomas and Matthew Pappas.

Viewing on Tuesday April 30 at St. Zachary Catholic Church 567 W. Algonquin Rd, Des Plaines, IL from 10:30am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Burial will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, IL.
