It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Mayer, beloved husband, father and step-father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather, who left us on September 20, 2024. He was 75 years old.

Mark was born on September 28, 1948, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and sports. He was married to his cherished wife, Ilene Mayer, for many wonderful years, and together they overcame the odds that Parkinson's Disease presented. Mark was a proud father and step-father to his children, who remember him for his unwavering guidance and encouragement. As a grandfather, he brought joy and wisdom to his grandchildren, and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of his first great-grandchild.

A dedicated professional, Mark spent his career as an accountant in the automotive sales industry, where his expertise and work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. He approached his work with the same passion and integrity that he brought to his family life.

Outside of work, Mark enjoyed watching and discussing the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. His sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Ilene, their children, grandchildren, and a close-knit community of friends and family. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
