Obituary

Marilyn Louise Scheuermann (nee Halle), age 90, passed away on April 12, 2023, after a long illness. Loving wife of the late Thomas Scheuermann and beloved mother of Mary (Arthur Solis), Michael (Colette), Andrew and Theresa. Adoring grandmother to Vincent, Robert (Mary), Thomas (Briana), Matthew, Eric, Rachel, and Alexandra. Loving great grandmother to Sophie, Ellie, and Henry. Survived by her beloved sister Geraldine, brother-in-law Ron Weil, and sister-in-law Susan Halle. Preceded in death by her son Philip and daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Liz) Kulkarni, parents Edward and Clara Halle, brother, Edward Halle, sisters, and brothers-in-law Joan (Gene) Marciniak and Jeannette Halle (Stanley) Mazurek. Beloved aunt to 40 nieces and nephews.

Marilyn was a native of Chicago and graduated from Notre Dame High School for Girls. She was deeply connected to her faith and began her adult life as a novitiate in the Maryknoll Sisters religious order. Prior to making final vows, she decided that this was not her calling. She worked briefly as a kindergarten teacher at Saint Bonaventure. She married Tom in 1958 and settled in Pittsburgh, PA where Tom and his brothers opened a chain of donut shops. Marilyn was welcomed into her husband's family of three sisters and seven brothers and their spouses. Following Tom's passing in 1965, Marilyn moved to Park Ridge, IL to be near her family as she raised her five children. She cherished spending time with her extended family and enjoyed the connections she made with neighborhood friends. She was active in Mary Seat of Wisdom parish during the years her children attended. Her final years were also happily spent with new friends at the Resurrection Retirement Community in Chicago.

A visitation and memorial mass will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Mary Seat of Wisdom Church in Park Ridge, IL at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
