Margaret A. Swiatek (nee North) age 93 of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away on November 16, 2023. She was born on October 28, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents Margaret (nee Loye) and Roy North. She is survived by her younger sister Helen North. Beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Dedicated and loving mother of Joan Swiatek, Susan Glaus, Michael Swiatek, Mary Mc Quay, Daniel Swiatek and Paul Swiatek. Cherished grandmother of 10; Will Lamond, Bryan Lamond, Scott Jensen, Ryan Swiatek, Kyle Mathison, Rachel Gunn, Sarah Swiatek, Jacob Swiatek, Matt Swiatek and Debra Swiatek, as well as, a very proud great grandmother of 9.  She was a friend to many over the years and is survived by her dear friend Mary Solarz. She enjoyed watching the many birds feed in her yard, reading, playing cards and building jigsaw puzzles. She will be remembered as having a beautiful smile and living a long healthy life never eating vegetables. Grandma Marge was a very special lady.  Visitation for Margaret will be taking place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016. Interment will be in All Saints cemetery located at 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, Illinois, 60016.
