We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Remsing, age 94, who passed away peacefully at her home in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, on May 18, 2026.

Margaret was born on December 8, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Max and Anna Lauer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend whose love for her family shaped generations.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Remsing Jr., whom she married in 1951 and who passed away on September 23, 2005; her son Stephen J Remsing, who passed away on May 29, 2021; her sister, Laurie Lauer and her brother, Fritz Lauer.

Margaret is survived by her loving children: Linda (Rick) Kwiecinski, Marianne Nelson (Steve Lysne), Robert J. Remsing and Thomas J. Remsing. She was also preceded in death by her daughters-in-law, Maureen Remsing, who passed away on July 31. 2023, and Kathleen Ann Remsing, who passed away on May 15, 2026.

Margaret leaves behind a cherished legacy through her eight grandchildren: Candice Kwiecinski (Teresa) , Kristin Hill (Ryan, deceased September 11, 2025) , Sean Remsing (Megan), Ryan Remsing (Stacee), Shannon Remsing, Tyler Nelson (Tami), Jordan Nelson (Chloe) and Joey Remsing.
She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Reese, Ella and Kylan Hill, Clara and Faylinn Remsing, Izzy and Emmett Remsing, Emery and Addie Nelson and Presley Kwiecinski – Locasio.

Margaret will be remembered for her strength, kindness, devotion to family and the love she shared so freely with those around her.  Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026 beginning with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Becket Church, 1321 N. Burning Bush Ln., Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
