Leland Cordero Atonson, age 60, a resident of Des Plaines, Illinois since 1994 passed away April 27, 2023. Beloved father of Colleen Atonson. Loving brother of Rene (Betsy), Lyle (Lynnie), and Jake (Melanie) Atonson. Former husband of Dana Montinola. Leland was born November 15, 1962 in Bacolod City, Philippines to Ninfa (nee Cordero) and the late Ponciano Atonson.

Born in the Philippines, Leland came to America at a young age and pursued a love for medicine just like his father. As he studied he found a love for the City of Chicago. With his brothers close by, he started a family of his own and had his only daughter, Colleen. Amongst his only daughter, he lives on with many nieces, nephews, and grand nephew/ nieces. Through his lifetime he travelled to many places and inspired others with his love for God as a Christian. Leland's impact as a brother, son, spouse, uncle, and father continues beyond his lifetime. His love was endless and his care for others was powerful.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 starting at 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.
