LaVerne M. Pecka age 96 of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away on February 19, 2021. Born on December 2, 1924 to John and Estelle Pecka in Chicago, Illinois. Dear sister of the late Wilbur (late Karoline), late Robert (late Phyllis) and the late John Jr. (Julie). She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was secretary to the Vice President of General Electric for 39 years. LaVerne was a dedicated volunteer at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for more than 25 years well into her 90's completing 13,000 service hours. She loved to travel, enjoyed going to plays, loved watching sports especially golf, the Cubs and the Bears, but she REALLY loved Jeopardy. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. LaVerne was always very generous and compassionate, noble, dedicated and honest. Visitation for LaVerne will be taking place on Friday, March 5, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. Burial will be taking place in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to Lutheran General Hospital.
