Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Linderman, age 77, of Des Plaines passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2022 after a long, hard-fought battle against cancer. She spent her final days surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born in Chicago on June 6, 1944 to Robert and Louise (Konow) Tate.  She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Robert and Jon Tate.  She lived in Chicago, Indiana, and Michigan during her childhood years. Her family then settled permanently in Des Plaines when she was in high school, where she attended and graduated from Maine West High School. She was a lifelong member of Des Plaines Bible Church, later renamed The Bridge Community Church.  It is there where she met and married the love of her life, Myron "Bud" Linderman, who preceded her in death in 2008.  Together they raised three children, Brian, Kevin, and Beth.
In her early years she worked for Max Factor, then took a break to raise her children.  She later worked at Awana Headquarters, the Des Plaines Park District, and Cumberland School in Des Plaines, where she was a secretary until her retirement.
Kathy had a servant's heart and would go where she was called, whatever the circumstance.  She volunteered in Awana Clubs, Sunday school, and the church nursery, as well as participating in the church choir, handbell choir, and local community choir at the Frisbie Senior Center.
She will be remembered for her love, kindness, and acceptance that she showed to everyone. Her thoughtfulness, determination, and encouraging, positive spirit will be the legacy that she leaves to us all!
She is survived by her children Brian (Cherie) Linderman, Kevin Linderman, and Beth Linderman. Her grandchildren, Brianna (Connor) Hilton, Benjamin Linderman, and Abigail Linderman, and great-grandson Liam were her greatest pride and joy!  She loved and was loved by so many, including nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who became family.
The funeral services for Kathy will be held at The Bridge Community Church, 946 E Thacker St, Des Plaines, IL on Sunday, February 13.  Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, with a service immediately following at 4:00 pm.  A private burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Phantom Ranch Bible Camp (phantomranch.org) or Inner City Impact (icichicago.org).  Kathy believed in their mission and was a lifelong supporter of both organizations!
Our family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, and the Advocate Hospice team for giving her the loving care that was provided to her.
