Karen S. Luecke age 57 of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away on December 16, 2019. Cherished daughter of Geraldine and the late Burdette Luecke. Dear sister of Connie Luecke (Kevin) Telford, and the late Brenda Luecke Miller. Fond aunt of Kira Ann Telford. Karen received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois and spent the better part of her life working to improve the lives of children.  She worked tirelessly in her roles at Catholic Charities, Infant-Parent Institute, and most recently, Maryville Academy.  Karen was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Cubs and the Bears.  Like many in Chicago, watching the Cubs win the 2016 World Series was a dream come true.  Karen also loved to travel and was always planning for her next trip.  She was actively involved in several social groups, enjoying the friendship and laughter of those around her.  She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, Karen would be honored to have donations in her name go to Les Turner ALS Foundation or Best Friends Animal Society. A memorial gathering will be taking place on Sunday, December 22, 2019 beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at G.L.
