John E. Panenka

John Edward Panenka, a resident of Des Plaines, Illinois for 30 years, passed away on July 4, 2026 at the age of 62. He was born October 26, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robert and Dianne (nee Buckley) Panenka. Beloved brother of Steven and Carrie Panenka. Proud uncle of Ryan Panenka.

John "The Plumber" was an active member of the First Step House. He loved the 4:30 meeting and all the people who attended. He was always ready to carry the message. John was proud to have a state plumbing license and to be a union plumber. He was a non-stop talker, and was always ready to help people. John had more friends than one could count. May God rest his soul.
