Joel Douglas
Daube
Sep 9, 2004 — Sep 17, 2020
Des Plaines
Joel was loved immensely by his family, and no day was taken for granted. He was a loyal son and a fantastic brother. Joel had a confident faith in Jesus and was active in church and in the youth group. He played the set drums from first grade on and was proud to be part of Maine West's drum line and band program. He was active on the Maine West swim team and the local Des Plaines Park District team as well. He was also a cross country runner and enjoyed other athletics. He was a Cub/Boy Scout & was preparing his Eagle Scout project. He loved to be outdoors with friends and family, biking and hiking, or even alone searching for critters in streams and under rocks. He loved to laugh and tease and was a friend to all. He will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. Joel is survived by his loving parents, Doug (Cheryl nee Laninga) Daube; his siblings, Jenna, Jamie, Jeremy and Jori, his grandparents; Ruth (Late Bruno) Daube and John (Elinor) Laninga. His aunt and uncle; Lisa (David) Light and Dan Daube.
