Joann Marie Drozd, age 85, of Des Plaines, passed away on June 3, 2026, surrounded by cherished family members. Born on June 20, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Emily (nee Ciolek) Regula, Joann lived a life centered on love, family, friendship, and joy. She and her beloved husband, Bob, celebrated 65 years and one day of marriage this year—a remarkable milestone that reflected the devotion, partnership, and deep affection they shared throughout their lives together.

Joann was the loving mother of Sharon, Randy (Debi), the late Russell (Dina), and the late Christopher. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kyle, Rachel (Jeff), Brandon, Zachary, Daniel, Tiffany (Adrian), and Dylan, and a treasured great-grandmother to Brynlee, Emma, Braxtyn, Palmer, and Joseph. Nothing brought Joann greater happiness than spending time with her family. She loved them endlessly, celebrated their accomplishments, worried about them when needed, and made sure they always knew they were loved.

Joann had a gift for making people feel welcome. Her gentle nature, warm smile, and fun-loving spirit drew people to her wherever she went. She treasured the friendships she built over the years, especially with her dear friends Marion and Corinne, and she leaves behind many friends whose lives were brighter because she was part of them.

One of Joann's greatest joys was dancing. She and Bob were active members of the Senior Polka Association (SPA), where they spent countless happy hours on the dance floor. They loved to dance—and dance they did—early, late, and often. Together they also enjoyed traveling and creating wonderful memories with family and friends.

While Joann enjoyed many things in life, her family was always her heart. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved, whether sharing a meal, celebrating a holiday, cheering on a grandchild, or simply enjoying time together. The love she poured into her family will continue to live on in each of them.

Joann will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her unwavering love, and the countless ways she made others feel special. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations.
