Jeffrey Wendt, born April 11, 1968, passed away on July 26, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and dedication to helping others. He was the beloved son of the late Edward and Carolynn (Kotowski) Wendt.

Jeff is survived by his sisters, Teena Whittenhall (Paul) and Lisa Michna (Michael), as well as a nephew, Ben Whittenhall, and niece, Riley Whittenhall, all of whom he loved. He was a kind soul who always strove to do the right thing.

A longtime active member of multiple twelve-step programs, Jeff was deeply committed to the recovery community. He was a trained drug and alcohol counselor, channeling his lived experience to offer the hope of healing to countless individuals. His tireless efforts to support those living with mental illness were recognized by NAMI, a testament to the lives he touched through volunteer work.

Jeff had a generous heart. He helped a lot of people- not with fanfare, but with humility, integrity, and genuine care. Whether through his walking alongside people in recovery or a simple act of kindness, Jeff made the world a better place.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many whose lives he touched.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 3:00pm until the time of Memorial Service at 6:00pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.
