Irene A. Sullivan of Des Plaines passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the age of 94. We believe Mom has been reunited with her beloved husband, Donald Sullivan, her daughter Terri Sullivan, her brother Arvid Johnson (Irene Maloy), her sister Arlice Johnson, and all those who have gone before her in faith. She will be greatly missed by many including her own kids and daughters-in-law: Mary Sullivan, Tom Sullivan (Mary Jane Hecker), Rick Sullivan (Dorothy Gieren), Jim Sullivan (Geri Dudzik), Ann Sullivan, and Kathy Sullivan; grandchildren Jen Sullivan, Elyse (James) Olson, Lauren Sullivan (John Comfort), Dana Sullivan (Jack Jacobson), Jessica (Eric) Schoefernacker, Missy (Scott) Lanctot), David Shields, and Alison & Adam Krejci; and great-grandchildren Lucy & Emma Ward, Anders, Rhodes, Zealand & Eden Olson, Finn Comfort, Lottie & Heidi Schoefernacker, and Delilah Lanctot.

To laugh often and love much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to give of oneself; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm & sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier: this is to have succeeded.
