Genevieve Michalek, age 89, of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away October 9, 2022. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Cyrill "Cy" Michalek. Loving mother of Sandra (Stephen) Griffith and the late Steven Michalek. Proud grandmother of Ryan, Lauren, and Tyler. Genevieve was born April 3, 1933 in Berwyn, Illinois to the late Hugh and the late Stella Howell.  She worked for Walgreens in Deerfield, Illinois for 20 years, retiring in 2009. She loved to travel and enjoyed being active throughout her life including square dancing with her husband, Cy, and Jazzercise well into her early 80's.  She played the piano, sewed numerous dance costumes for her daughter over the years and enjoyed her backyard garden.  Visitation will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at G.L.
