Franz "Herb" Rothweiler age 83 of Des Plaines, IL passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019. Beloved husband of Christel (nee Witt). Loving father of Gregory (Maria) and David (Gina) Rothweiler. Opa of Max, Luke, Jane, and Nicole. Fond brother of the late Ernst and Eugen Rothweiler. Franz was born in the Black Forest of Germany in Donaueshingen. He trained in Europe as a Chef and had a life long passion for great German food and German culture.  In lieu of flowers, masses at St. Zachary in his name. Visitation Friday, September 27, 2019 at St. Zachary Catholic Church, 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, IL from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
