Eileen Mary Van Diggelen (nee Dahm), age 95, a life-long resident of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away February 18, 2023. Beloved wife of 49 years to the late Carl J. Van Diggelen. Loving mother of Donna (Lee) Preusser, Carol (Paul) Moran, Debbie (John) Trischan, the late Patti (Clifford) Brogmus, the late Carl Jr., and the late Andrew (Katie) Van Diggelen. Cherished grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of 10. Dear sister of the late Edwin, the late Thomas, the late Leonard, the late Donald, the late Gilbert, the late Nick Dahm Jr., and the late LaVerne Fay. Eileen was born October 11, 1927 in Des Plaines, Illinois to the late Nicholas and the late Anna Dahm (nee Wurm). Her family owned the Dahm Greenhouse of Des Plaines for many years. She had a great love for gardening and was very involved in the Des Plaines Garden Club. Eileen was also heavily involved with her church, St. Stephen Protomartyr. There she volunteered and was a part of the Golden Heart Senior Club. She also volunteered with the Des Plaines Self Help Pantry. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, 1280 Prospect Ave, Des Plaines, Illinois. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral care provided by G.L.
