Diane Frances Sartain, nee Schiller, of Des Plaines, passed away on May 17, 2025. She was born in Chicago on February 7, 1946, and was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Schiller and Frances (Merz) Schiller, and her husband of fifty-two years, John Sartain. Diane leaves behind two children: Nicole (Jeffery) Scholpp, John Eric (Elizabeth) Sartain; and five grandchildren: Madelyn and Owen Scholpp, and Edyn, Karina, and Justin Sartain; sister, Valerie Schiller, and Frank, Jr. (Joan) Schiller.

Diane was a graduate of Luther North High School, Chicago, IL. Her career as an administrative assistant spanned four-decades and several industries. Family was the most important part of Diane's life. She enjoyed spending time at her family's lake house in southwest Michigan. Her hobbies included crocheting and sewing, reading, playing pinochle, baking, and lunching with her friends. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, IL. Diane will be remembered for her vibrant personality and big laugh. Her friendliness is evidenced by her many life-long friends.

On Friday, May 23, family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, IL. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Diane's body will be laid to rest at Irving Park Cemetery, 7777 Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL.
