Dean Allister Currie of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away peacefully Thursday January 4, 2024 on his 77th birthday. He was born January 4, 1947, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Thomson M. and Marjorie Bynon Currie. He was the beloved husband of Carol L. (nee Vieira) Currie, dear father of Brian Dean and Michael Thomson (Erica) Currie. Dearest grandfather of Emma Michele and Ryan Michael Currie.

Loving brother of Thomson B. Currie, Debra L. Smith, the late David R. Currie and Betty Gregurek, uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Dean was a graduate of Springfield High School class of 1965 and of DeVry Technical Institute of Chicago with a degree in electronics. He also held many certificates in HVAC. Dean was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served as an Elder, member of the Choir and on other Boards. He enjoyed Participating in the Boy Scouts of America with his sons, also Dean was involved in martial arts at the Chicago Mudo Center. He spent most of his working career in Heating and Air Conditioning as a Serviceman, Service Manager, Sales and Service Representative.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 855 Lee St., Des Plaines, Illinois beginning with visitation at 10:00 am, service following at 11:00 am.

A second memorial and interment will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Bramley Funeral Chapel, 150 Reichert Rd., Divernon, Illinois from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment at Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon, Illinois.
