Cynthia Dase passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2023.  Cindi was born on May 27, 1953 in Chicago to Arthur and Virginia (Butz) Amling.  Cindi grew up in Des Plaines, where she attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Maine West High School, graduating from Maine West in 1971. She attended Valparaiso University.

Cindi met her future husband, Richard L. "Dick" Dase when they were both working for Fernstrom Movers in Des Plaines.  Love blossomed, and Cindi and Dick were married on June 6, 1981, making their home in Schaumburg.  Dick passed away on March 10, 2010.

Most of Cindi's career was spent in accounting and technology, most recently as Technology Coordinator for Vermillion Financial Services in Barrington.

Cindi and Dick gave loving homes to several cats over the years.  It was hard for her to say no if someone told her about a cat needing a home.  She loved her nieces and nephews very much, and enjoyed gathering with all of her family.

Cindi was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents, brother-in-law Bill Broman and sister-in-law Caroline Dase.

Cindi is survived by her siblings, Michael Amling (Carol Riphenburg) of Wheaton and Melissa (the late William) Broman of Crystal Lake.  She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas (the late Caroline) Dase of Park Ridge,  William and Louise Dase of Oswego,  and James and Suzanne Dase of Prospect Heights. She is also survived by her seven nieces and nephews, Heather (Robert) Bernhard, Hilary Swanson (Christopher Navta), Peter Amling, Edward Dase,  Ashton Dase,  Robert (Samantha) Dase, and Scott (Andrea) Dase, and 9 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines, Illinois.
