Chad Louis Martinson, age 53, a lifelong resident of Prospect Heights and Arlington Heights, Illinois passed away September 30, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (née Baldonado), the loving son of Ralph and Dorothy (née Larabee) Martinson, dear brother of Todd (Lisa) Martinson and Naomi (Eric) Lautenschlager, and proud uncle of Travis, Wyatt, Von, Kyle, Rey, Alene, Haley, Rayna, and Twila. Chad's nine nieces and nephews especially enjoyed sharing stories with their Uncle Chad and all the encouragement he gave them.
Born on July 21, 1971, in Arlington Heights, Chad's bright smile, vivacious spirit and enthusiasm for life left a mark on everyone he met. As a child at heart, Chad had a passion for video games, cartoons, Lego, anime, and movies. He possessed an incredible ability to recall scenes and details from shows and films, often entertaining friends and family with his vivid recollections. His affable personality made him the life of the party, and he could strike up a conversation with anyone, always ready with a joke or a funny story.
Chad's love for history and world affairs was profound. He could recount many historical details and had a keen interest in international news and events. His enthusiasm for board games, especially Risk, was well-known among his friends, with whom he shared many memorable game nights. An avid traveler, Chad explored various parts of the world, including the Philippines, Toronto, Russia, and Florida. These experiences enriched his life and broadened his perspective.
Chad carried with him fond memories of his childhood dog, Thor, who stayed close in his heart throughout his life. Above all, he truly cherished his wife Joanne, with whom he shared a deep and affectionate love that he wore proudly. His devotion and admiration for Joanne were known to all, making their relationship one of mutual respect and profound connection. Chad will be missed by all those who knew him.
