Carol Dougherty (nee Niedzwiecki) age 64 of Hoffman Estates, Illinois passed away on May 6, 2022. Loving mother of Marissa Dougherty (Kyle Buchanan) and Lindsey (Cody) Golub. Cherished sister of Susan Paciolla. She is also survived by her dear pup, Lando. Carol served 34 years with the Des Plaines Police Department retiring as Sergeant. She was a sponsor for many years with the Police Explorers she loved to help the community through shop with a cop and the adopt a family program. Carol volunteered with the Schaumburg Food Pantry as well as fostering puppies with Wagging Hearts. She enjoyed baking, gardening, dogs, going to concerts, all things Disney, and decorating for the holidays especially Halloween. Visitation for Carol will be taking place on Friday, May 13, 2022 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois, 60016.
