Bernice Geraldine "Bee" Jones (nee Arunno) age 94, a resident of Des Plaines since 1967 passed away February 18, 2022.
Beloved wife of the late Gordon Jones, loving mother of Gail (the late Peter) Gianpetro and Jean (the late Dale) Higgason.
Proud grandmother of Mark (Kate) Higgason, Katharine (Kenneth) Bellandi, Gordon (Emme) Higgason, James (Denise) Gianpetro, Steven (Kathryn) Higgason and Jacqueline (Daniel Fitzgerald) Higgason.
Loving great-grandmother to Charlotte Higgason, Jack and Nicholas Bellandi, Nathan and Hadley Higgason, Trent and Jackson Tennyson and Abigail and Daniel Gianpetro.
Gordon was a career Navy man and Bee followed him for 19 years during tours of duty in Japan, Virginia, California, Maryland and Florida raising their family while Gordon was serving his country.
Bee's love of music followed her throughout her life starting with high school glee club. Whether listening to her favorite crooners and Big Bands or joining in for sing-a-longs, Bee was always happy when surrounded by music.
Bee made several trips to Italy to learn about and take part in her cultural heritage. She generously invited family members to join her on some of those trips so she could share her ancestry with them.
In later years, Grandma Bee would gather her family together for Friday night pizza parties at a favorite restaurant. Those were happy times and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gaetano and Carmela Arunno and siblings Jean, Louis, Mae and Anthony.
She will be fondly missed by many family and friends.
Services are private. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois.
