Audrey A. Swanson (nee Kramer) of Des Plaines, Illinois , beloved wife of the late Elrod H. Swanson , passed away peacefully with her son Alan by her side on July 17, 2022, her 88th birthday.  Audrey was a loving mother to Alan & Darlene (nee Goslee) & Don & Cindy (nee Siwinski) Swanson.  She was a loving & devoted grandmother to Katie (nee Swanson) & Jamal Gorham, & Steve & Jake Swanson, & a loving great grandmother to Penelope Jean & Cassius Benjamin Gorham.  She was a dear sister of the late Fred & Ilene Kramer & the late Nancy (nee Kramer) & Robert Dankert.  She was a loving aunt to many nieces & nephews including John & Maureen Dankert, the late Jim Dankert, Kurt & Cecilia Dankert, & Irwin, Kim, Jan, Kerry, Alice, Tracy, & Holly Kramer. She was a great aunt to many including Katie & Zach Hebert, Emily & Sean Baker, Kurtis, Erica, & Jimmy Dankert & a great great Aunt to Eliza & Finn Baker.  She also had many nieces & nephews on the Swanson side from her marriage to Elrod.  Audrey was born July 17, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Erwin and Esther (nee Esau) Kramer.  Audrey was an active member of Good News Christian Center in Des Plaines for many years.  In her earlier years, she loved to travel, go camping & play cards every Friday night. She loved helping & meeting new people through her ministry at her church, enjoyed bible study, visiting with her friends, loved her daily walks & exercise, had a standing beauty salon appointment at her favorite salon every Thursday, & loved spending time with her grand children & great grandchildren whenever she could. She had a kind heart, a beautiful smile, & was a friend to many. Visitation will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois followed by a graveside service at Eden Cemetery, 9851 Irving Park Rd, Schiller Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in Audrey's name would be appreciated. Funeral care provided by G.L. Hills Funeral Home.
