Arlene A. Mondack (nee Markowski), age 84, a resident of Des Plaines, Illinois since 2008 passed away April 13, 2023. Beloved wife of 61 years to Ronald Mondack. Loving mother of Nancy (Brent) Noble, Lynn Mondack, and Jill (John) Prosek. Proud grandmother of Katrina (Joe) Daley and Natasha Prosek. Dear sister of Alice (the late Stan) Erie and the late Stan (Betty) Markowski. Loving Aunt to David (Ann) Erie, Susan (Gary) Craze, Steve (Melanie) Markowski, Phil (Betty) Markowski, and Elisa Penn. Great-Aunt to Joseph, Thomas, Alyssa, Shelby, Patrick, Alec, Brandon, Jeremy, Kazimer, and Stasha.

Arlene was born June 10, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Stanley and the late Katherine (nee Wanderski) Markowski.

Arlene was very involved in her church, St. Mary, and was a part of the Altar & Rosary Society there. She also was actively involved for many years in the Girl Scouts. Arlene started out as a Troop Leader, Day Camp Director, and eventually served as a District Chairman. Arlene was active throughout her life enjoying traveling the country, gardening, music, dancing, baking, exercising, and swimming. She was an enthusiastic spectator of ice skating, tennis, college football and basketball. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time together with family and friends.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am at St. Mary Church, 794 Pearson St., Des Plaines, Illinois. Interment in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
