Angelo W. Bernar, a lifelong resident of Des Plaines, passed away September 13, 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to April (nee Angeloff) Bernar; loving father of Michael (Doris) Bernar, Laura (Mark) Mukahirn, and Mary (Doug) Bergman; proud grandfather of Brett (fiancée Abbie Tomkinson), Brendan, and Elizabeth; dear brother of Gerry (Marcine) and Thomas (Sherry) Bernar. Angelo was born April 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Attilio and Rosella (nee Abbeduto) Bernar. After graduating from Maryville Academy, he stayed close with the friends he grew up with. He worked for the City of Des Plaines for 39 years where he retired as the assistant director of Public Works.

A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a time of service at 5:00 pm at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Avenue, Des Plaines, Illinois.
